Clare Valley wine tour prices look simple until you ask what each fare holds. This guide explains why there is no ticket, what a fare pays for, how the private day is priced, what the Adelaide pickup adds, and what happens if you cancel. Every fare here is computed from the listings captured in September 2026, and the wine tours Clare Valley carry the current ones.

Is there a Clare Valley ticket?

No. The Clare Valley is a wine region with no gate and no entry ticket. So when you search for Clare Valley tickets or Clare Valley ticket prices, what you are really pricing is a seat on a tour, or your own transport plus each tasting.

That is good news for your budget, because a guided day here puts the scheduled tastings in the fare. You pay once, when you book, and the cellar door fees are already handled. The one exception is the 3-day Flinders Ranges tour, whose listing does not say.

What does a Clare Valley wine tour cost?

Fares run from $174 to $643 per person, and the range follows where the day starts:

• From your valley stay: $174 or $177 per person for the local guide's shared day, depending on which listing you book.
• Your group only: $535 for a private group of up to four.
• From Adelaide: $341 per person for the 8-hour Wine Escape.
• Three days: $643 per person for the Flinders Ranges tour, with rooms and meals.

All prices are in US dollars. The booking page prices your own date and party, and that total is the one you pay.

What does the fare include?

On the day tours, nearly everything that matters on the day. The local guide's shared days include the tasting fees at the selected wineries, a charcuterie-style lunch at a winery, pickup and drop-off within the valley, and the guide. One of the local guide's listings adds an air-conditioned vehicle and bottled water.

The Wine Escape includes the pickup from Adelaide city and Glenelg hotels, lunch at the operator's chosen restaurant, tastings at the chosen venues and a live guide in English.

What no day fare includes is the wine you buy to take home and a tip. The local guide's listings name gratuities as not included, and one of them adds that tasting fees may apply at some wineries. The Wine Escape excludes all additional expenses.

How is the private tour priced?

The private day for four is priced per group, not per person. One fare of $535 covers your group of up to four, the guide, the car, the scheduled tastings and lunch. Split it and you get:

• Four of you: about $134 each, less than a shared seat at $174.
• Three of you: about $178 each, close to the shared fare.
• Two of you: about $268 each, well above it.

So for a couple the shared day is the better buy, and for four the private day is. What the extra buys at any size is a route you shape and a car with nobody else in it.

What does the Adelaide pickup add?

On the fares alone, the Wine Escape costs $341 per person against $174 for a day that starts in the valley. That is about $167 more per person.

What it buys is the drive: 90 minutes to two hours each way, plus the pickups in the city and Glenelg. It also saves you a night's room in the valley, which is the fair comparison. What does the 3-day tour cost per day?

The 3-day Flinders Ranges and Clare Valley tour costs $643 per person, which is about $214 a day. That includes two nights at the Hawker Hotel Motel in twin-share ensuite rooms, three lunches, two breakfasts, two dinners and transport throughout, with Wilpena Pound in the company of an Adnyamathanha guide and admission to Brachina Gorge.

It excludes travel insurance, alcoholic drinks and drinks bought at venues, meals outside the itinerary, extra snacks and tips. It sells discounted fares for children and seniors, so check yours on the booking page. As a wine day it is poor value, because the Clare Valley gets about 3 hours in all.

Why does the local guide's day cost less on one listing?

The local guide sells the shared day through two booking sites. One lists 6 hours for up to five at $174. The other lists 6 hours 30 minutes from 10:00, for up to six, at $177. Both put the tastings and lunch in the fare.

The gap is small, so choose on the date and the length that suit you. Whichever you book, the booking page's total for your date is the price.

Is there a price for children?

Only the 3-day tour publishes one. It sells discounted fares for children and seniors, and infants can travel on a parent's lap. The booking page shows the fare for each age when you enter your party.

The day tours publish no child fare and no child policy, so ask the operator before you book. Every day here is built around tastings, which children cannot join, and no child fare is listed.

What does lunch cost on top?

Nothing on a day tour, because lunch is in the fare on every one. The local guide's days serve a charcuterie lunch at a winery, with Claymore Wines named as the sample stop. The Wine Escape stops for lunch at Antidote kitchen, and vegetarian meals are available if you tell the driver on the day.

The 3-day tour includes three lunches, two breakfasts and two dinners. What you pay for yourself on any of them is extra drinks, and on the 3-day tour that includes alcohol.

Do you tip?

It is your choice. The local guide's listings and the 3-day tour name gratuities as not included, so a tip sits on top of the fare. The Wine Escape excludes all additional expenses, which covers the same ground.

The other costs no day fare covers are the wine you buy and any extra drinks. Set those aside before you compare fares.

Can you cancel?

The day tours refund in full if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start. That covers the local guide's shared days, the private day and the Wine Escape.

The 3-day tour has longer terms. It refunds in full up to 6 days before departure, 50% from 2 to 6 days, and nothing inside 2 days. It may also be cancelled for weather or low numbers, and then you are offered a refund or a new date.
